Raised in northern Ontario, John first pursued Architecture but soon realized his true passion lay in the visual arts. This realization led him on a transformative journey, driving across the United States before arriving in Los Angeles to attend the prestigious ArtCenter College of Design. There, he explored various artistic disciplines and ultimately earned his BFA in Advertising.

For thirty years, John thrived in the advertising industry as an art director and creative director, shaping visual storytelling and brand identities. Twenty years ago, he returned to his first love—painting. With a renewed sense of purpose, he embraced the freedom of creative expression, focusing on the beauty of the outdoors. His work has been featured in group and solo exhibitions. Magazines. Earning him numerous accolades.

In today’s fast-paced world, John’s paintings provide a moment of serenity. Viewers often describe his work as “happy,” “calming,” “comforting,” and “at ease.” Working primarily in acrylics, he masterfully blends color and composition to evoke a sense of Zen, often incorporating unexpected color palettes that add depth and emotion to his pieces.

John’s passion for travel, especially by motorcycle, allowed him to discover and capture fleeting moments of natural beauty hillside in bloom, a hidden waterfall, a secluded lake. His paintings reflect these quiet, meaningful experiences, reminding us that life is not measured by time alone but by the moments that leave a lasting impression.
